Tompkins-Cortland Building and Construction Trades Council Endorses Anna Kelles for the 125th NYS Assembly District [VIDEO]

Ithaca, NY - This morning The Tompkins-Cortland Building & Construction Trades Council endorsed Anna Kelles, Candidate for New York’s 125th Assembly District, at a press conference open to media and members of the Building Trades Council. 

Dave Marsh, Secretary & Treasurer of the Trades Council, announced the endorsement at the Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 267 Union Hall Friday morning. 

“We were grateful to have almost 18 years working with Barbara Lifton, and we see a lot of the same qualities in Anna, as well” said Marsh. “Last night, the laborers had their local union meeting, and we voted to endorse Anna Kelles” 

Earlier this week, Kelles, was endorsed by the Working Families Party. There is currently a 7-way primary for the open Assembly Seat recently vacated by Assemblymember Barbara Lifton.

“This is such an honor and it’s very humbling” said Kelles on her endorsement. “I have been on the picket lines for the last 10 years with several of the members here trying to make sure that if there are jobs that the people here in the unions can do - they should have that first option to get those jobs”

The Primary election will be held on June 23rd, with early voting starting on June 13th in Tompkins and Cortland Counties. The Tompkins-Cortland Building & Construction Trades Council represents 13 local unions & over 3000 union members and their families.
