ITHACA, N.Y. — Former New York State gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon endorsed Anna Kelles for New York State Assembly District 125, her campaign announced on Tuesday.
Nixon, who made a campaign stop in Ithaca during her primary challenge of incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2018, says Kelles represents exactly the type of change needed in Albany.
“As a fellow advocate for a New York that works for all of us, Anna Kelles has the courage and the experience to effect real change for the many, not just the few,” stated Nixon. “I’m proud to stand with Anna and ask you to join me in supporting her to be your next Assemblywoman.”
Nixon and Kelles will be hosting a Virtual Town Hall, broadcasted live on YouTube on June 17, at 7 p.m. More information regarding the event can be found at Kelles4NY.com.
"I'm thrilled to have the support of Cynthia Nixon, a progressive champion, a courageous fighter, and a woman of conviction and integrity who stands for the issues I will fight for in Albany. She has been and continues to be an inspiration for so many," said Kelles.
